I've been here a few times and each time has been amazing. The food is always great and the servers know what I need before I ask. I always get the dry aged ribeye and coconut cashew and they never disappoint.

Food: Great portion with fresh/savory dishes. Calamari was crispy with fried jalapeno that was unstoppable. Salad was fresh but nothing special Steak: Had dry aged steak and if was very tender and juicy. Not too salty at all and I'd say one of the best steak menu in Boston Staffs were friendly, and the place was bit crowded on first floor but second floor was relatively quiet. Great place for a date spot

This place has that classic American steakhouse feel! The steaks were cooked to perfection and the staff was super attentive. The steaks were so flavorful, I didn't even need the steak sauce. This is a great place for a celebration! The chocolate chip cookie dessert with a scoop of ice cream on top is perfect for those who love warm, soft cookies!

This restaurant is massive! It feels like they can accommodate walk ins with the size. The food, service and environment were wonderful! I enjoyed my filet and the sides were great also! I'd recommend if you want to go to a nicer steakhouse in the area!

This place does not miss. I have been here many times for friends birthdays, anniversaries or family dinners and they are always extraordinary. The wait staff is professional, the drinks taste amazing (but are still strong), and the steak is some of the best I have ever had. The bread is always fresh that they bring to the table and the side are all very tasty. I highly recommend the tomahawk steak and a dirty martini from this place. A match made in heaven.

Best of Boston, but not Boston's Best! We made reservations for Dine Out Boston and were excited to come here since many people raved about the steaks, ambiance, and overall experience. But to my dismay, we were a bit disappointed. We didn't love the menu for Dine Out Boston so we decided to order off their regular menu. I ordered the Wedge Salad and my husband had their onion soup. They were both good, not great. Then for entrees, we split the Dry Aged Prime Strip with Asparagus and Baked Potato and ordered a bottle of wine from the Sommelier. We also had a few of their sauces (truffle butter and steak sauce). The steak was not warm and did not melt in your mouth like other steaks. Our server was fairly new but I expected much more from him. For instance, our apps did not come to the table together and I had to ask another server for the soup. Our wine did not get to the table until after our food so that was disappointing. We also ordered bread pudding for dessert since it was recommended and a few minutes later a creme brulee came to our table so they sent that back and gave us the right dessert and also took it off our bill, which I was happy about. Sometimes restaurants are so busy during Dine Out Boston that they can't keep up with service or food etc. I would like to give this restaurant another shot for another time and hope for the best!

Came in tonight for dine out Boston and service and quality were still very on point. Our server Tim was very attentive and competent. Very spacious here but always a bit loud because of the high ceilings and large parties around. But despite how busy they are, service never lacks. We got the seafood chowder (halibut), steak, creamed spinach, grill 23 tots with truffle oil. For dessert we got the chocolate cake and sweet Creamsicle (both were very big portions). Both were very good and perfect finish to end of the meal

I'm surprised I haven't written a review before! This review is compiled of over 10+ years of dining at this restaurant so I'll try to keep it short and straight to the point. Grill 23& Bar is our go-to for steak. We like to go here for special occasions but whenever we have a steak-loving friend/ relative that visits we have to take them here. It's busy restaurant for dinner so make sure to make a reservation, especially on the weekends! I always enjoy my experience here. The waiters are friendly, helpful and attentive, the service here is overall great each time. I can't say that about most other places. The very first time I came here was for my birthday in 2013 and our waiter's name was Tom (or TimI think), and during my filet mignon phase he educated me on the best way to enjoy that steak and for leftovers how best to reheat it (since we ordered so many things that night, I was so full that I had to carry home the rest of my steak) and I still carry on the knowledge from that night to this day. They also have a sommelier. Their 100 day Aged Prime Ribeye is what they are known for, which is our go-to along the Fried Calamari Fra Diavolo and sauteed mushrooms. When we're not having the Ribeye we get the Wagyu Bar Burger which you can only get in the bar area. Other items we've tried are: (note: they've refined their menu over the years so some things may not be on the menu anymore) Tuna Tartare - very good Wagyu Steak Tartare Tacos - very good and to share Crab Cakes - good Greek Salad - good Grill 23 Tater Tots - sooo good when fresh and hot Grilled Shrimp - good Wagyu Striploin A5 Steak - so good. Worth a try Sautéed carrots Mashed potato - always a good go-to Baked potato - was dry when I had it Sautéed Spinach - always a good go-to I couldn't post ALL my photos since it only allows 10 and it's over 10 years of photos worth.

Great atmosphere, service was spot on. The food was incredible! We started with the steak tartare and was by far the best I've had. My Husband had the steak frites which he ranted and raved about. I had the chicken which was delightful. The drinks were superb and served in record time. My clumsy self accidentally spilled a glass of wine while I was assisting in cleaning off the table and our service quickly replaced with a new glass of wine. Highly recommend and cannot wait to return!
